Espresso Martini
Mix your masterpiece.
It's so simple, so beguiling and with a beautiful story behind it.
Legend has it that the Espresso Martini was created in London's "Soho Brasserie" in 1983. The bartender Dick Bradsell initially called the drink he prepared for a model Vodka Espresso and made it from vodka, sugar, coffee liqueur and espresso. The model asked the bartender to make her a cocktail with coffee.
Le voilà! The birth of the Espresso Martini.
Enjoy it to the full - sip by sip!
Ingredients:
30 ml espresso (fresh and strong)
50 ml vodka
15 ml coffee liqueur (e.g. Kahlúa)
ice cubes
Optional: a few coffee beans for decoration
Preparation:
Espresso: First, you need a strong, hot espresso. The perfect base for your cocktail - so make it really good!
Mix it: Fill your shaker with ice cubes. Add the fresh espresso, vodka and coffee liqueur. Now comes the exciting part: shake everything vigorously! Around 15 seconds should be enough to get the drink nice and cool and frothy.
Finale: Pour the drink into a chilled martini glass. The foam should settle nicely on top - a sign that you've done everything right!
Decoration: For the finishing touch, place a few coffee beans on top of the foam. Not only does it look great, it also smells fantastic.
Sit back and enjoy your espresso martini with friends.
Cheers!
