Cloud Coffee
It looks like a dessert, works like an energy drink and is simply good for you.
Cloud Coffee is probably the smartest caffeine boost this summer: cold, clear, caffeinated - and not a gram of sugar to drag you down.
The basis? Chilled coconut water - naturally rich in potassium and magnesium. This protects your fluid balance, gently supports your blood pressure and makes the drink a smarter alternative for anyone who loves coffee but wants more than just a quick kick. On top: a beautifully whipped espresso foam, creamy like a barista's dream and made in a flash.
You don't need a lab or a fancy machine. Just ice, coconut water, a good espresso and some plant-based drink. If you like, add a dash of vanilla or agave syrup.
Cloud Coffee is refreshing, invigorating and healthy.
ingredients
1 espresso shot (approx. 30-45 ml)
100-120 ml coconut water (chilled, ideally without added sugar)
Ice cubes
30-45 ml milk or plant-based drink (e.g. oat or almond milk) or light cream
Optional: sweetener to taste (e.g. agave syrup, vanilla syrup or maple syrup)
Preparation
Fill a glass with ice cubes and pour in the chilled coconut water.
Prepare the espresso.
Pour the milk or cream (and optional sweetener) into a separate container. Use a milk frother or whisk and froth the mixture until it is airy and creamy.
Carefully pour the frothy espresso over the coconut water - the foam should land on top as a "cloud".
Optionally stir or enjoy the contrast - perfect for a little refreshment in style.
